PMMA

Features of PMMA

  1. Hardness

Hardness is one of the parameters that can best reflect the production process and technology of cast acrylic plate, and is an important part of quality control. Hardness can reflect the purity of raw material PMMA, weather resistance of sheet and high temperature resistance, etc. Hardness directly affects whether the plate will shrink, bend and deform, and whether the surface will be chapped during processing. Hardness is one of the hard indexes to judge the quality of acrylic plate.

  1. Thickness (acrylic tolerance)

The thickness of acrylic plate has acrylic tolerance, so the control of acrylic tolerance is an important embodiment of quality management and production technology. Acrylic production has an international standard ISO7823

Tolerance requirements of casting plate: Tolerance = ± (0.4+0.1 x thickness)

Tolerance requirements of extruder: Tolerance =< 3 mm thickness: 10%> 3 mm thickness: 5%

  1. Transparency/whiteness

Strict raw material selection, Advanced Formula follow-up and modern production process ensure excellent transparency and pure whiteness of the plate. After flame polishing, it is crystal clear.

Types of organic glass (acrylic) plates

Common boards include: transparent board, dyed transparent board, milky white board and color palette.

Special boards include: bathroom board, Cloud board, Mirror board, cloth board, hollow board, anti-impact board, flame retardant board, ultra-wear board, surface pattern board, frosted board, Pearl board, metal effect board, etc.

Main purpose

PMMA has the advantages of light weight, low price and easy forming. Its molding methods include casting, injection molding, mechanical processing, thermoforming, etc. Especially injection molding, it can be produced in large quantities with simple manufacturing process and low cost. Therefore, its application is increasingly extensive. It is widely used in instrument parts, car lights, optical lenses, transparent pipelines, etc.
